In support of the 8th Annual National Young Adult Cancer Awareness Week, which takes place the first week in April, Vital Options presents Surviving Idol: Young Adults with Cancer Expressing Themselves.

This international talent competition will feature young adult cancer survivors (see official rules) at any stage of their cancer journey in vocal, instrumental, and dance categories, with winners in all three categories.

Through the Surviving Idol competition, Vital Options seeks to inspire and nurture the creative process that is healing and expressive, and delivers a message on behalf of young adult cancer awareness.

"Survivor" is what you are and "surviving" is what you do. It's in the "ing" - like living, thriving, singing, dancing, playing and loving what you do!

• Finalists will be selected by a special panel of advocates and celebrities affected by cancer
• Judging will take place within each category
• Winners will be selected by YOU!

Submissions will be featured and voted on the Surviving Idol website and on The Group Room^® cancer show, which is returning in an all new format as an HD quality Internet TV show.

Surviving Idol and the new The Group Room show are being produced by the Vital Options Health Network in association with Emmy Award Winning producer Scott Sternberg and Scott Sternberg Productions. Future plans include a concert featuring the winners of Surviving Idol.

Please carefully read the submission rules and return the required information. By uploading a video on this site, you are agreeing that you are a cancer survivor. Finalists whose diagnosis cannot be confirmed will be disqualified.

Vital Options is an international cancer communications organization that was originally founded in 1983 as the first organization for young adults with cancer. It launched National Young Adult Cancer Awareness Week in recognition of its 20th anniversary and in collaboration with the young adult cancer advocacy movement.
